Apco Appliance and Air is in Rancho Cucamonga Ca. / Upland Ca. working on GE refrigerator repair, were this unit is not cooling anymore. When Dave arrived he opened both doors and saw that the lights came on and the fan motor in freezer was running but not blowing cold air. He pulled out the refrigerator and removed the back panel. There he noticed that the condencer fan motor was running but not compressor. With out the compressor running you will not pump freon threw the system to cause the cooling effect. These parts run at the same time so he unplug machine and removed the mother board behind the cover in the back. He then removed the board to look on the back of circuit board. There he found a big burn mark on it. This turned out to be the part of the board that sends power to the compressor. This was all caused by a condencer that hadn’t been cleaned for 4 years. Apco Appliance and Air is in Chino ca. and Chino Hills ca. working on a dryer repair on a whirlpool/Kenmore appliance. We were called out because the unit was very noisy. Dave took a few pics of a step by step look at changing the rollers, belt and idler pulley. Remember to always unplug your appliance before you try to work on it. Once we changed the rollers,belt and pulley on this machine the bumping and thumping noise went away. Here’s the pics…

Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air were Whirlpool or Kenmore washers agitator is not turning right to wash the clothes. We arrived and popped the rinse aid assembly off the top of the agitator and then with a flat head screw driver popped the cap off the agitator. This exposed the cam dog assembly, which helps catch the agitator. This alows the agitator to agitator only in one direction. When the dogs are functioning properly, they lock when you spin the top agitator counter clockwise and unlock when you spin it clockwise. This top agitator works in the opposite direction as the lower agitator to help funel the clothes downward and then back to the top. Giving them a great wash. You could tell right away the dog catches were broken. Here’s some pics so you can see……

Apco Appliance and Air is in Covina Ca. and West Covina Ca. is working on a refrigerator ice maker repair. This Whirlpool/Kenmore refrigerators ice maker stopped working all of a sudden. This refrigerator has a par of optics that shoots a beam from the right to the left side across the top of the ice bucket located on the door. If the bucket becomes full, it will break the signal going across and stop the ice maker from making to much ice. When he opened the freezer door the optics on the side seemed to be working ok. 2 blinks and then a pause. Then when Dave held in the flapper the light was steadly on. That means the optics are ok. So if no ice is being made then the ice maker or water valve are bad. First dave checked the water valve by pulling the ice maker out and jumpered the N and Valve conections while holding in the door light switch. The valve opened and water entered. Another way you can do the water valve check is by pluging the water dispencer power to the ice maker valve. What will happen if the valve is working, you will get water entering the ice maker when you hold the water dispencer arm in for water. Make sure you hold the light switch at the top in so the dispencer or ice maker senses the door shut. Be advised the if you are not familiar with voltage or electronics,it is best to call a qualified tech. Be for you do all that remove the ice maker and then the plastic white cover at the head of it. Because Dave did that to find the plastic gear drive wheel was broken. If that is the case. Washer repair in Diamond Bar Ca. By Apco Appliance and Air on GE washer no agitate or spin. This machine is only 1 year old. First thing to try on these GE appliance washers is to unplug the machine, plug it back in, lift and close the lid 5 or more times within 12 seconds and then try to start it. This will reset the inverter if it just became hung up. Dave the tech arrived and checked continuity threw the fuse link to the motor after he tryed to reset inverter. This link is found at a heat insulated rap were one white/red wire meets 2 white/red wires. He found the fuse had no continuty threw which made it a bad part, so he installed a new one. When he turned on  the motor it blew the new link because the inverter, which is part of the motor itself, was shorter. unfortinuitly that motor is expensesive. We are here to help if you have any questions at http://www.apcoplus.com..

Dryer repair in Rowland Heights Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air were a Whirlpool/Kenmore dryer has no heat at all. This is usually an ignitor or thermal fuse problem. The ignitor is an electric blow coil ignitor located inside the dryer below the drum. The thermal fuse is located and accessed from the back of the dry. So our tech Dave pulled the machine out and unplugged it. Then he removed dryer vent hose and the (9) 1/4 inch screws holding on back cover to access thermal fuse. He then took his ohm meter and checked fuse link for continuity but had known. These thermal links can blow out from age or a clogged dryer vent. Link was bad so he installed new one and now the unit is back up and running. He also made sure that the dryer vent to the outside was not restricted. If you are not familiar with a volt meter then call a qualified tech to repair this. Check out www.apcoplus.com to contact us. It is very important to do maintenance on your appliances. Lack of maintenance, will and does cause repairs to occur earlier then normal. With the cost of repairs now a days. It is sometimes a good idea to pay for a company, like Apco Appliance and Air, to come out and look at your appliance.
